1449 Cripps, Baker: 1880's Cabinet Card Photograph of George
W. Cripps, NY Written on photo: "Geo
W. Cripps, (twin crossed off) brother of Grandma Baker, second
husband of Aunt Maria" handwritten in pencil and ballpoint ink.
Photo Type: Cabinet Card Photograph. Approximate Age: circa 1880's.
Photographer Name: Leeson. Photographer Address: 350 Sixth Ave.
bet. 21st & 22d Sts. Photographer City: Manhattan. State: New
York County: Kings, Queens and New York County. We are wondering
if George Cripps was a twin, who lost his twin brother or sister?
Do you have twins in your Baker, Cripps or Cripp family line? His
2nd wife might have been named Maria Cripps. We found a Mara Cripps
and George W. Cripps in the 1900 census records in Manhattan. We feel Mara is misspelled in census records, as in viewing the original handwriting on the census image, it is very confusing to read. George was born in New York in 1846 and they have a son named George Cripps. According to this photo, he would have remarried and may be found at a later date with a different wife in census records. history, Cripps genealogy, Cripps surname piece. Click
