1564 Barttlet: 1908 Beautiful Fancy Easter Postcard to Ollie Barttlet, WI, MN Written on card in old dip pen ink: The card is addressed to Ollie Barttlet, 310 Messar St., Rhielander, Wis. The message side of card says "Be a good Boy, From Gramma" The holiday card has a one cent stamp and is postmarked Minneapolis, Minn, April 12, 1908. Rhielander appears to be misspelled on the card, the correct spelling is Rhinelander, Wisconsin, and it is in Lincoln County and Oneida County. Minneapolis, Minnesota, is in Anoka County and Hennepin County. The postcard is printed in Germany and printed by beautiful litho or lithography methods. It features 2 sheep pulling a wagon with a child in front. Ollie may be nickname for Oliver Barttlet, Olive Barttlet, Olivia Barttlet.

This a small, very clean 1896 leather bound Excelsior Diary for 1896. Matilda Clark is an older woman, and accomplished writer, and speaks of daily life events. Names she mentions are her older sister Harriet who would have been 78 years old on 01/03/1896, also Anna, Edith (daughter or granddaughter) in 9th grade, Kate, Ed and Alice, Nellie Bossard burying her child, a letter from Nate Dayfoot, John Dicker is dead, She states that she hates to read of European war in the paper as our own Civil War gave her "all the insight into war I want." She mentions church women Mrs. Snyder and Mrs. Stack. Also Mrs. Myers and Hattie, Mick, Mrs. Polly Morris is "failing", James Patterson, how she helped Edith with Arithmetic, states she is going deaf, her father died in 1887, Mrs. Alden, her own horse Dan, Jotham, Elvin, Irving, Grace and Lillie, Bernard, Healy, Peter Henderson, Bingham family, Morgan Shaffer, Coombs, the cemetery fund, Mr & Mrs. Alger etc etc etc. A wonderful Clark family history, Clark genealogy, Clark surname piece, with beautiful clear handwriting.
