a photo of the residence of Rufus Palen, an early mover and

are the words "Ava's
writing". (We assume this to mean that Ava identified herself
and Mable Dominy first in her own handwriting, and a family member

Approximate Age: circa 1890's. Found in Greenfield, Massachusetts
MA in Franklin County. This photo is light in tone and depicts two
very well dressed women in front of a clapboard Victorian era house.
The seem to be in their Sunday best: stylish 1890's clothing, boa
scarf around necks, long coats, hats with flowers, ages in twenties.

2020 Adzit, Jones, Coontz: 1871 Survey of Land Parcel in Fonda's
Patent This Land Survey is handwritten in old
dip pen ink, and dated April, 14, 1871. It is part of Fonda's
Patent in New York State, owned by Erastus Adzit, and is
bordered by the land of John O. Jones. (John Jones) The
survey was conducted by and the bears the signature of
surveyor Orville Coontz. The backside of the paper is covered
with pencil calculations. A patent is a grant made by a
government that confers on an individual fee-simple title
to public lands. Fonda's Patent was a lot of land in NYS,
settled after the Revolutionary War. Mr. Adzit owned 17
and 90/100 acres. We found the Adzit family in Watertown
and Lorraine NY, both in Jefferson County. Alternative
derivatives of the Coontz name are: Koontz, Koonce, Koonz,
Kuhns, Kunz, Coons. Found in New York State, in Oneida

House. The receipt is signed by Farmers Loan & Trust Co. with signature illeligible.

County. An ornate and fancy litho printed receipt.
In 1812, with $2 million of capital, City Bank of New York (now Citibank)
opened for business in New York City. In 1822 Farmers' Fire Insurance and Loan
Company is founded, the first incorporated trust company in the U.S and its name
becomes Farmers' Loan and Trust Company in 1835. It merged with National

c/o Bennington. The goods provided are
bound lithographed books, stamps, journals,
bank pass books, blotting paper, sealing
wax, and check books for a total of 312
dollars. The beautifully printed letterhead
states that Blank books are a specialty,
and that Nathan Lane also printed US revenue
stamps. The Calligraphy of the letterhead
is stunning. Manhattan, New York is in
Kings, Queens and New York Counties. It
has some minor tears in folds, does not

Receipt from Charles Decker Co to M.J. Storer for
6 Sacks of Lime, NY This advertising
billhead receipt is dated Sept. 1, 1920,
from the Charles Decker Co. Merchants, of Brockport, NY. The products, 6
sacks of lime, were purchased by M.J. Storer. There is an embossed paid
seal from the Decker Company. The Charles
Decker store sold hardware, stoves, tinware, plumbing,
harness, fertilizers and masons supplies.
Brockport, NY is in Monroe County. Found in New York State,

2037 New Ipswich, NH: 150 Year Anniversary
of New Ipswich, Published 1900, NH, MA This old antique hardcover book
is entitled "One Hundred and Fiftieth Anniversary of New Ipswich, N.H., 1900,
August 26-28, 1900" and was compiled by Frederic William Jones A.M., M.D., (Frederic
Jones or Frederic W. Jones) published by the Celebration Committee, and printed
by the Sentinel Printing Company, Fitchburg, Mass. New Ipswich, New Hampshire,
is in Hillsborough County. Fitchburg, Massachusetts, is in Worcester County.
The book is olive green clothbound with 89 pages, in excellent condition. It
tells of the poet Timothy Perry growing up in the town, speaking at the
event, and gives his poem read at the proceedings. The book chronicles the
complete proceedings around the 150th anniversary celebration, and has
pages of rememberences townspeople have sent in from
afar giving surnames of who they remember from their New Ipswich childhood.

Book with Bookplate, MA This book, the Franklin Fifth Reader,
has an introduction by Prof. Mark
Bailey, and is written by G.S. Hillard. The book has had several owners as different
names appear written inside as it was passed along in the old schoolhouse. On
the inside cover is an early bookplate ex libris with Geo. P. Greenwood, (George
Greenwood) Druggist, Common Street, Natick, Mass, as the seller of the book.
Handwritten in pencil is the owner, Idella L.H. Towne (Idella Towne or Idella
Hewitt) along with old 1800's Indian head coin rubbings. The next page has Walter
Klein, Natick, Mass. Dec. 12th, 1876, written in pencil followed on the next
page by a hand drawn and colored gaff rigged sloop boat under sail with a sun,
sky and sea drawn. The book is published by Brewer and Tileston, Boston, and
J.W. Schermerhorn & Co.,
New York, 1875. Natick is in Middlesex
County, Boston is Barnstable, Berkshire,
Middlesex, Norfolk, Suffolk, Worcester
Counties both are in Massachusetts.
Manhattan, New York is in Kings and
New York Counties. There is also
many random writings and notes on
the pages. We found marriage info
on the owner of this book: Idella
Leila Hewitt Towne who married
George Henry Muhlig (George Muhlig)
in Natick, MA on September 9, 1891.
