Mr. Middleditch was a son of Rev. Robert T. Middleditch, (Reverend Robert Middleditch) and was born at Red Bank (Monmouth, Gloucester County) during his father's pastorate of the Baptist church here. He was early familiarized with the printing business during the period when the STANDARD was conducted by his father and the late Anthony Reckless. Being an apt scholar he was chosen for the legal profession and was graduated from the Madison (now Colgate) University and took the full law course at Columbia. But his love for the printing business led him to form a partnership with his brother Livingston, and to-day the law printing office of the Livingston Middleditch company ranks first in its class in New York city, Thomas's legal training standing him in good stead in his chosen avocation. About ten years ago he married an estimable Brooklyn woman, who with one daughter survives him. A young son died in infancy. His father and mother, two brothers and four sisters also mourn his death. The young men of Red Bank of twenty-five years ago well remember him as a warm-hearted, generous boy and many a heart will be made sad by the news of his untimely death."
