This US postal card is addressed to "J.S. Applegate, Red Bank, NJ" (Monmouth
and Gloucester County) and is postmarked from Trenton on March 26,
1880. Approximate age: dated 1880. State: New Jersey. County: Mercer & Burlington
County. Found in a large collection of late 19th and early 20th century
printed business related cards in Berkshire County, Massachusetts,
MA. Card is printed on heavy old off white cardstock with simple early
American typography font. These business cards give a wonderful look
into early advertising at the turn of the last century, as well as
good genealogy clues. Early Census and business records can also be
of help in finding these lost ancestors and their working whereabouts.
Research into the the architect, building and address they worked at

found much info online to a Ohio Civil War veteran named Andrew
Jackson Bixler (or Andrew J. Bixler), related to the following surnames: Stage, Thomas, Richards, Markley, Washington. He can be found in web searches and had many children.

19th and early 20th century printed business related cards in Berkshire
County, Massachusetts, MA. Card is printed on heavy old off white cardstock
with simple early American typography font. These business cards give
a wonderful look into early advertising at the turn of the last century,
as well as good genealogy clues. Early Census and business records
can also be of help in finding these lost ancestors and their working
whereabouts, as well as the gen sites for each specific county. Research
into the the architect, building and address they worked at may also
provide good clues for date and time period. We found references
to Maurice Edward Viele and his large Albany hardware store in web

stamp: "67 Blodgett St. West Philadelphia, PA." We take this to mean

of a Pilgrim named Hugh Statie who journeyed on the Mayflower in a web search, so the Statie name may also be an old family surname.
Approximate age: 1870-90's. Found in a large lot of 19th c. calling
cards in the vicinity of Augusta, Maine which is in Kennebec County.

call at Griffin's, 13 John Street. Nice Goods. Low Prices." We found evidence
of 3 John Streets in America: 13 John Street, NYC is a famous 1888 Roman
revival architectural building in NYC, which was within the perimeters
of the World Trade Center. It was called the Corbin Building, located
near the corner of John and Broadway. It was designed by by well known
American architect Francis Kimball. We also find a John Street in Lowell,
Massachusetts and evidence of one in Kingston, NY. This trade card could
be from any of these locations. Lowell, Massachusetts is in Middlesex
County. Kingston, New York is in Ulster County. NYC is in New York, Kings,
and Queens County. This was found in the Northeast US in Franklin County

War era. Found in the areas of Ulster, Columbia and Dutchess County,
New York State, NY. The Tangier Smith family is a very well known old
family line in California, as well as in the Suffolk County area of
Long Island, New York NY area where there is an 18th Century house
that was the manor house of William "Tangier" Smith. The
British occupied the house during the Revolutionary War and built a
fort nearby. The Smith family graveyard is also on the property. Caleb
appears to be about 30 years old in this photograph. There is a fancy Victorian
backmark of decorative leaves and flowers, but no photographer's name

Higgins German Laundry Soap, Coney Island NY Printed on card: "Higgins' German Laundry Soap Is The best." This advertising byline is printed
on the sail of an illustrated vintage gaff sloop sailing off Coney Island, depicted in this colorful litho trade card. It has the amusement park Coney
Island as a watery magical mirage in the background. The back of
the card lists all of the reasons one should buy this soap including
preventing "chaps" to
the laundress. The factory is listed as Brooklyn, L.I., and the
Office, 94 Wall St,. N.Y. The Chicago factory is printed over,
as if it may have been closed down at an earlier date. Brooklyn,

NJ, CA Written on RPPC: Addressed to Mrs. Arthur Quimby,
Mendham, New Jersey. The message reads: "Mother, We got mail this morning
after reading Dad of yesterday and answering it and yours. I also got
Donnie too and one from Grandma Norris." The card is signed by looks
like "Franklin or Franklina", and it is handwritten in old fountain pen. The postcard
is postmarked July 23, 1932, from Red Bluff, California. There is a green
one cent postage stamp with Ben Franklin on it. The front image is of Brokeoff

Opera Clothing House, NY Printed on card: Famous Opera
Clothing House, 2 & 3 Wieting Block, Syracuse, N.Y. This is a
beautiful horizontal litho trade card with a beach scene of a man
fishing in a big straw hat, sound asleep, with sea birds on the
end of his bamboo pole. The Weiting Block was a famous architectural
Syracuse structure, built by Dr. John Weiting (1817-1888). Dr.
Weiting lectured on physiology, medicine, and health. The Weiting block burned in 1856 and was rebuilt
lavishly by Dr. Weiting and then burned again in 1881. Dr. Weiting
family and wife family surnames are Plumb, Coley, and Manchester.
Syracuse, New York is in Onondaga County. Other Counties associated
